Find Cheap Flights

Ever feel like you are paying too much for airfare? It seems to me that every time I book a flight somewhere I go online later that day, or week or even month and find the same flight for cheaper. So, I literally sat at my computer at home and researched every possible site I could find, during different days of the week, at different times during the day and found I could save anywhere from 10 dollars to close to a hundred by doing a few simple things.

Instead of going directly through the airline website, I go onto websites like Expedia, Travelocity and Cheaptickets. It is easier to compare prices this way, and most of them do not charge you booking fees. A great site that I came upon was also Cheapoair.com. Though they do charge more in fees, I did notice a vast difference in price.

Another helpful thing is to simply go into a search engine, such as google, and type in "cheap airline tickets" or "cheap flights". Today by doing so, I found that Southwest airlines has a special running for 48 hours on certain flights. Some flights were as low as 60 dollars.

Instead of booking your flight on the weekend, or at night, when Internet traffic is heavy, try doing it mid-week, in the middle of the day. Amazingly enough, I found that flights were cheaper this way. I am not positive as to why this is, but my best guess would be that there is less competition at these times.

As most people know, you should book your flight as far in advance as possible, still, if you want to go somewhere last minute, check the airline site within an hour of a flight departure. You may find a great deal this way.

Either way, by knowing your options and checking out more than just one airline or travel site, you are saving money you could be spending on your vacation!
